Date Nut Bars

Ingredients
  1. ¼ cup Butter, softened
  2. ¾ cup Sugar
  3. 1 Egg
  4. 1 1/3 cups of Bisquick
  5. ½ cup Nuts, chopped
  6. 1 cup Dates, chopped (about ½ a pound)
Instructions
  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix thoroughly the Butter, Sugar, Egg.
  3. Mix Bisquick, Dates and Nuts. Spread batter in a well greased 8” x 8” pan.
  4. Bake for about 30 minutes, until golden on top.
  5. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
  6. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

Oatmeal Date Cookies

Ingredients
  1. 6 tablespoons unsalted Butter
  2. ¾ cup Light Brown Sugar, packed
  3. 1/3 cup all-purpose Flour
  4. ½ cup whole wheat Flour
  5. ¾ teaspoon Baking Soda
  6. 1 ½ cups Regular Oats
  7. ½ teaspoon Salt
  8. 1 Egg, lightly beaten
  9. 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  10. 1 cup Pitted Dates, chopped
  11. 3 ounces Bittersweet Chocolate, coarsely chopped
Instructions
  1. Preheat over to 350 degrees.
  2. Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
  3. Add the Brown Sugar, stirring until smooth.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine the All Purpose Flour, Whole Wheat Flour, Baking Soda, Oats and Salt.
  5. Combine the Butter Mixture with the dry ingredients.
  6. Add the Egg, Vanilla and Dates. Fold in the Chocolate.
  7. Mix well and spoon mixture by tablespoon-fulls out onto a lightly greased or parchment covered baking sheet.
  8. Press down on tops of cookies to flatten slightly.
  9. Bake for 12-13 minutes, until tops are dry to the touch.

Ingredients
  1. 1 cup Medjool dates
  2. 1 cup milk
  3. 2 cups vanilla ice cream
Instructions
  1. Pit and chop dates.
  2. Put dates and milk into jar of a blender and purée until smooth.
  3. Add ice cream and purée again.
  4. Divide shake between 2 tall glasses.
